Mitral Stenosis

CORRECT    CLINICAL REASONING:

Mitral stenosis is a alvular heart disease characterized by the narrowing of the orifice of the mitral valve of the heart. It is almost always caused by rheumatic heart disease. Murmur radiates to the axilla.
Protracted latency period, then gradual decrease in exercise tolerance leading to a rapidly declining course. This is because of the low cardiac output. Atrial fibrillation is common.
