She has E. Coli in her blood which is usually a urinary tract infection source. E. Coli lives in the GI tract. Pt is neg for UTI so E. Coli is probably penetrating the blood from the cancer in her liver. She probably has a biliary obstruction related to tumor growth and the organism is ascending from the duodenum.
