Atrial Fibrillation

Intravascular Dehydration

CORRECT   Clinical Reasoning:

He was NOT in fluid overload when he went to the ER. They gave him Lasix IV which caused him to lose more water weight. This caused a fluid shift from ECF to ICF. This loss of fluid also dropped his BP. Given his cardiomyopathy with an EF of 25% he is having a hard time maintaining his BP. Thus he needs fluids b/c he is intravascularly dehydrated.
